ANNUAL FUND – Seed for Sowing

Our tuition and fees are kept intentionally as low as possible and range between $2000 and $4000 lower per year than the average of the private school alternatives in Williamsburg.  Historically, tuition only covers approximately 84% of our cost for educating students at PCS; the balance of the annual budget comes from donations and fundraisers. Despite this gap, PCS also provides financial assistance to approximately 30% of our students and their families because our board and generous donors have consistently prioritized making our school available to every family that wants to give their children the gift of a classical, Christian education.

Unquestionably, our teachers are our greatest assets. We believe that we offer the best compensation package in Williamsburg for private Christian schools to attract and retain the best faculty. Nevertheless, our teachers sacrifice significantly higher salaries and benefits that would be available to them in the public school system to serve at PCS. Annual fund giving helps enable us to retain our committed teachers.

In recent years, we excitedly launched our Athletic Program.  Another special initiative is our musical Strings Program, which is provided to Kindergarten through 3rd grade students. Our Arts Program is growing roots with a dedicated theater class, which fosters creativity and confidence in delivering public presentations. Funds allocated to the Arts and/or Athletics allow us to continue enriching our students’ school experience.

Our Seed for Sowing slogan represents the great faith, as in the case of a tiny mustard seed of faith making the impossible, possible (Matthew 17).  It also represents the biblical reminder that there are rewards for how and where we invest our time and talent (Galatians 6). We are gratefully reaping the harvest of all the seeds that have been sown in the past from student enrollment to staff vocations to volunteer gifts of time, talent, and treasure. No less importantly, the seed also represents God’s provision to his people. This fall, we are asking God to provide the school with additional resources through our loyal alumni, current and past parents, grandparents, faculty, and staff to meet our goal of $100,000.

ENDOWMENT

We are so blessed to have donors who wish to leave an enduring legacy and see our school thrive for many generations!  To that end, we are fortunate to have established two endowments recently, the restricted Golden Memorial Endowment and the unrestricted PCS Patriot Endowment.  The former endowment funds annual scholarship awards, which recognizes a Golden Scholar Student recipient and a 2:10 Teacher recipient. These awards recognize the selfless service of Mrs. Elaine Golden, a 15-year volunteer enrichment teacher at PCS. You can find additional information at here. Income from the PCS Patriot Endowment will fund board-selected school-wide priorities, which may include student scholarships.  You may contribute to this endowment by clicking on the icon above.
